Truth Remains

"There is God’s Word. This is my rock and anchor. On it I rely, and it remains." - Martin Luther

OUR MISSION

The mission of Truth Remains is to promote and proclaim God’s written Word, thereby stimulating greater love and devotion to the Incarnate Word, Jesus Christ, in His church (John 1:14).

In the minds of many history is a subject to be tolerated when necessary, but ignored whenever possible. Sadly, this is also true for church history. The philosophy behind this attitude is that whatever was done in the past is dead and gone, but what is happening now is living and vital.

Solomon stated in Ecclesiastes 1:9-10, “That which has been is that which will be, and that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one might say, ‘See this, it is new’? Already it has existed for ages which were before us.”

The burning of martyr John Lambert, from Foxe's Book of Martyrs

Several times in Scripture we are told to learn from the things done in the past (1 Corinthians 10:11; Romans 15:4) and this is especially true regarding church history. Church history is full of controversies, heresies, and battles for the truth. In a day when the contemporary church is enamored with new innovations and discoveries, even when it comes to theology, the battle for truth rages on.

Robert Shindler, a close associate of Charles Haddon Spurgeon, noted, “It is all too plainly apparent men are willing to forego the old for the sake of the new. But commonly it is found in theology that that which is true is not new, and that which is new is not true.”

Church history has revealed repeatedly that men and their philosophies come and go; truth remains. God has revealed the truth in His Word and preserved it through the ages, giving us everything that is necessary for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). That foundation is sufficient, inerrant, and unchanging.

Jeremiah 6:16 instructs the believer to “stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you will find rest for your souls.”  Truth Remains is a non-profit ministry organization that aims to remind the church of its history, call believers back to the ancient paths found in the Word of God, and bolster confidence in Scripture.

The halls of church history are covered in the blood of countless martyrs who have given their lives to defend, proclaim and preserve the very same Bible that we hold in our hands today. Truth Remains teaches that history through presentations and interactive events, featuring a rare collection of first edition 16th – 17th century Bibles, in addition to making educational media, documentaries, and online resources available.
